Modular Hoarding Systems

Our Modular Hoardings have been developed for use in the most demanding of working environments, namely on the London Underground System. They have to comply with the most rigorous safety and aesthetic standards and are also easy to use and erect. The basic system works on modular panels, which are 1220mm square, along with horizontal and vertical bracings.

Erection is facilitated by the use of clips wherever possible (the only loose fixings are the nuts and bolts that hold the panels together). All of the components have been designed with Manual Handling in mind and also ease of use by the erection gang. In order to do this as many of the component parts as possible are common to all grades of hoarding.
The hoardings are designed to meet the full range of Client requirements, whether these are just a simple hoarding to isolate an area from the public or the most complex type, which will act as a barrier for fire, dust and noise. Hoardings can also be made for security purposes (metal lined) for use in Ticket Offices, Banks etc.

The hoarding pictured above conforms to a 1.5KN line load at 1100mm above floor level. This is ample for most general applications however if excavations are behind the hoarding there will be a need for 3KN line load at 1100mm above floor level. The hoarding will also achieve this with a little alteration to the design. All the C.D.S. requirements have been addressed with the hoarding and a complete pack of drawings along with calculations is available with the hoarding.

The hoarding is designed to fit just about anywhere whether it is in a door way or closing off a long run (the only limiting factor is the ability to fix it to the infrastructure). There are several ways that the hoarding can be supported whether it is outriggers, supporting arms or just fixed to the floor to create a free standing screen.

This hoarding has been used at several locations of high security. The POMs room at Canary Wharf Underground Station being one of these. The requirement for this was acoustic, dust, 60 minute fireproofing, waterproof as well as giving a secure barrier to the inner room containing the money. This was achieved by fixing different materials to the hoarding frame, plasterboard, sheet metal and insulation to the void. A Superlux board was fixed to the outer face with anti tamper fixings, this was then painted to the clients specified RAL colour.

All signage can be fixed to the exterior and easily removed after use, this can also easily be re-panted to reinstate the "good as new" look.

The access to the site from the outside is facilitated by the use of either single or double door units; if these are not sufficient then a specially designed door set can be manufactured. This is the beauty of this system, it being modular, it can be altered with little inconvenience to either contractor or the Public.

With the panel sizes being 1220mm square it is easy to palletise and store the hoarding when it is not required. This also makes delivery and collection quicker and easier than ever before. Another plus to the hoarding is the fact it can be removed and re used as oppose to being thrown away as most timber hoarding are. Each panel being individual (but interchangeable) it is very easy to change any panel if it becomes damaged at any stage. The hoarding does not need to be dismantled to do this.

Fire Break Properties
The materials to the face of the hoarding panel can be to an approved material. By use of lapped joints and fireproof materials this can create a fire break wall of either 30, 60 or 120 minutes, this fireproofing will also be maintained for doors etc.

Dust Suppression Properties
Dust suppression will be obtained by the use of intumescent mastic to all joints and floor intersection.

Liquid Containing Properties
The hoarding materials are of a liquid resting type and with the addition of a bund will create a liquid containing barrier. This will facilitate any wet works to be carried out, and also give protection from miscellaneous spillages.

Acoustic Properties
The cloaking materials used can assist with the suppression of noise.

Security Properties
With the addition of steel, the hoarding can be given a security status.
